The 2013 Christmas Tag

Aaahh christmas, my favourite time of the year. The songs, weather, films, food, I just can't get enough of it! I was recently tagged by my good pal Alice to do this and I do love me a good Christmas tag so I'm just gonna jump right in!

1. Do you prefer a real Christmas tree or a synthetic one?
If it's a matter of preference then definitely a  real one but unfortunately the scent of a real Christmas tree really sets off me and my mums allergies so we have to get a synthetic one so we're not sneezing and wiping our watery eyes and runny noses all December long. I do love our tree though, it has built in lights! So cool!

2. You're in a coffee shop, it's December, what do you pick?
December where I live is insanely hot so probably some sort of iced tea or like a frappé or something. But in saying that, I can't pass up a good ol' gingerbread hot chocolate from Starbucks. They're too yummy!

3. Whats your favourite colour scheme for decorating the tree?
Personally I love silver, red and white but our tree is just full of random decorations that we've collected throughout the years which I also love. It gives a Christmas tree that personal touch. Me and my brother still have our first Christmas baubles with our names on them hanging on our tree that we got when we were but wee youngens freshly borned into the world! ;)

4. Giving or receiving?
I bloody love giving presents. I love thinking about what i'm gonna get everyone and then going out shopping for it and then wrapping it up really nicely and then seeing their reaction when they open it! It's so much fun! Although I certainly  won't say no to receiving presents that's for sure so I like both.

5. To mince pie or not to mince pie?
To mince pie. Always to mince pie.

6. What's your traditional Sunday lunch?
Well because it's quite hot in Australia on Christmas we tend to have a sitting of cold seafood first like prawns and crab and lobster and stuff and then later on for dinner we have the whole turkey, baked potatoes, salads all that kind of stuff. I eat so much I practically have to waddle away from the table!

7. Christmas Day fashion?
As I've said about a billion times in this post, it's a hot summers day on Christmas so I just wear a nice summer dress (usually white) with some sandals or heels, depending on the occasion, and a nice red lip to get in the festive spirit. The first half of Christmas Day is actually spent in my pyjamas but when it's time to go out to whoever's house Christmas is being held at that year this is what I usually get changed into.

8. What's your favourite Christmas song?
I have too many! My favourite favourites would have to be Sleigh Ride, All I Want For Christmas Is You, Justin Bieber's version of Santa Clause is Coming To Town and Christmas (Baby Please Come Home). My favourite Christmas album though is the Michael Buble one, listening to his voice feels like you're diving into a pool of hot melted chocolate. His wife is one lucky gal.

9. What's your favourite Christmas film?
I love Elf, The Polar Express, Home Alone, The Grinch, all of the Santa Clause series and Love Actually. The Snowman is also a childhood favourite of mine. You know what I just love all Christmas films.

10. Open presents before or after lunch?
Before! We open or presents as soon as we wake up!

I would like to tag everyone who's interested but specifically Rosie, AndreaJasmine and Sian.

What are you most looking forward to for Christmas? Let me know!

Updates and A Chat!

Greetings!

I was originally going to write all of this at the end of my last post but it got a bit long and rambly so I decided to write it on it's own. It will probably still be quite long and rambly actually so you might want to go grab a cuppa or something to eat before we get going.

When in doubt, whack in a Disney photo

First of all how are you guys, are you good? I've been so busy lately I haven't asked! What's going on your lives at the moment, are you just simply trying to plow through school and exams and such like I am or have you got something special to share? Pop it below so we can all have chat and get to know each other and become one big happy family. You might make a few friends along the way!

Next I want to tell you what I have planned for my blog. I know you guys wanted me to write a post on my DOLLY 'modelling' experience, if you will, (ooer) with photos and stuff and don't worry, I haven't forgotten I'm working on that as we speak. I was just waiting for the DOLLY people to email through some photos and I got them this morning so expect that soon! It was also my birthday on Saturday and I wanted to ask you if you were interested in seeing a birthday haul? I know some of you love hauls so if you're interested in that let me know.

Lastly I wanna ask you guys a question. I recently got a 'big girl camera' (Canon 600D) and I was wondering if I should start a Youtube channel? I feel like it would be more personal as I could explain things to you guys better and you would be able to see my actual personality and stuff like that that can't be shown through a simple blog. If none of you guys are interested or won't watch/subscribe I won't bother but i'd really like to know what you think. Please please please let me know!

That's all for now! Talk to you guys soon! '

Top 5 Spring Nail Polishes

Greetings!

Aaahh here I am again apologising to you guys for my crap blogging. Blame it on my school they have literally been throwing assignments at us left right and centre and now exams are about to start up again, I just can't get away! Nonetheless I have made time to write (and not edit) this quick post for you guys so hopefully I can be forgiven. Let's jump straight in shall we!

L-R: Australis 'Sweet Pea', beindulged 'White', Topshop 'Peaches'n'Cream,' esscence 'Thats What I Mint', SinfulColors 'Unicorn'.
Australis Nail Colour in 'Sweet Pea':
Oh how I love this colour, I can only describe it as a seafoam green? I feel like this colour is perfect for this time of year when we're transitioning into summer but we're not quite there yet as it's such a vibrant pastel colour if that makes sense. I actually wore this to a wedding in late September and I got sooo many compliments so I highly recommend it.

beindulged Nail Polish in 'White':
This actual nail polish in itself is super crappy (you need four coats and it chips in one day) but I LOVE white nails. It makes you look so feminine and sophisticated! I haven't got much more to say about it really just that it's definitely perfect for spring. (Anybody know of a really good white nail polish? Let me know!)

Topshop Nail Polish in 'Peaches'n'Cream':
If any of you watch Zoella then i'm sure you're very familiar with this particular nail polish and I can totally see why Zoe adores it so much. Pastel orange is sooo cute for spring, I don't even know what makes it so appealing to me I just know that I love it (i'm really good at explaining things I know). Topshop nail polishes are really great as well, the formula is ace, there is literally every colour you can think of, it;s not streaky and there's only minor chipping after three days so if you're looking for a new nail polish Topshop is the place to go!

Essence Nail Polish in 'Thats What I Mint':
Nothing says spring more like the classic mint nails, am I right ladies? There's something about it that puts you in the mood for cute picnics in the park and long flowy skirts and fruit smoothies. Essence have absolutely hit the nail on the head with their nail polishes too. They're cheap ($1.95, BARGAIN!), there's loads of colours, they're not streaky, you only need one coat and they last aaagggeeesss without chipping. All of the names of their polishes are also really awesome puns you literally cannot go wrong here.

SinfulColors Nail Polish in 'Unicorn':
Last but not least, pastel yellow! I think any pastel colour is really lovely for the spring time but pastel yellow just makes me thinks of flowers and bumble bees. That is literally the reason that it's in my top 5.  Pastels are such classic spring colours I really don't think they need an explanation as to why they're spring favourites, haha!

Sorry this post isn't very good, my head is all over the place so i've done my very best. I'm planning on writing an update post to fill you guys in on all of my plans for this blog and we can all have a nice chat (I promise i'll actually write it I swear). As always, If you want to see something specific on here just pop it in the comments or tweet me or email me or whatever and i'll see what I can do! Sorry again for not posting in so long!

5 Tips On How To Nurse a Sunburn!

Greetings!

As the bittersweet days of sunburn are upon us (and I know this for a fact because i've been burnt three times already, once on the back of my knees! Killer.) I thought a few handy tips on how to bring yourself out of sunburn city would't go amiss! I have been burnt countless times so now, naturally, I see myself as a bit of a pro at sunburn treatment (hey now) and you can't go wrong with a few pro tips! Of course if we kept reapplying sunscreen throughout the day like we should, we wouldn't get ourselves into this sticky and extremely painful (and sometimes peely) situation but hey, sometimes it's inevitable, am I right! I deliberately put the word "nurse" in the title because I'm sure you all know (especially the Aussies out there, holla!) that when you get sunburnt, you literally have to nurse yourself back to health. So, without further ado, the tips!

Tip #1: Moisturise.
Yep. Moisturise. It's that simple! Just keep moisturising your whole body, concentrating a bit more on your 'area of impact' if you will, and you'll feel instantly better. The moisturiser will rehydrate your skin and eliminate the redness of it, hurrah!

Tip #2: Invest in some Aloe Vera Gel.
This stuff is the shit, if you pardon my language! It's super inexpensive and you can just pick it up at your local pharmacy and you keep it in the fridge and then when you're sunburnt, you grab some and just smear this all over the burn. Because it's cold it feels sooooooo good and relieves the pain too. The Aloe Vera also helps the healing but is more to ease the pain so make sure you still moisturise as well as do this.

Tip #3: Drink Plenty of Water.
When you're sunburnt, your body becomes very dehydrated as the sun has literally burnt you so it's important to keep up your fluids so you can rehydrate your skin and stop it from looking so red.

Tip #4: Keep Cool.
This one is purely for your comfort. When you become sunburnt, you automatically feel hot all the time and there's nothing worse then being in a hot place when you're already steaming, so, just stay inside for a few days, get in front of a fan and eat an ice block and I guarantee your mood will improve by about 70%.

Tip #5: Avoid The Sun at All Costs.
This one is a no brainer. Think about it, if you go in the sun while sunburnt, you're just going to burn over the top of your old burn and it will end up being one big painful sunburn sandwich and it won't be pretty. It can also start Melanoma, a form of skin cancer, which would be terrible if contracted. Now is the perfect time to bring out that new beach hat you bought the other day and a cute pair of sunnies, throw on a romper and to sit under a tree and read a book or whatever instead of baking it up in the sun with your mates.

Easy peasy lemon squeezy! If you follow these five incredibly professional tips I can guarantee you a fast and safe road to full recovery. As always I'm very interested to hear what you have to say so if you have one of your own secret tips to getting over that killer sunburn, help a mate out and leave it in the comments! Maybe yours will be the one that helps out the most instead of my rubbish ones! Haha!

OOTD #1 || A Boiling Brunch

Greetings!

This morning, me and my chummy Rosie from Regent-St went and had a lovely little brunch together and thought it would be a splendid idea to do a cheeky OOTD. Since this is my first, It might be a bit lousy but bare with me. Before we start I would also like to thank her for her photography, fanks a whole heap chummy!

My outfit was just a quick throw-together outfit to make it look like I'd put some effort into it when I actually hadn't. We all have those outfits, am I right? I wore this cropped white tee from Jays Jays and these peach crochet high waisted shorts from a little bohemian Sydney boutique called One Honney (they ship internationally if you're not from Australia and would like to pick up something from their store!)

To make my outfit a little more interesting, I wore this Sportsgirl daisy chain flower headband. I've really been loving this lately and have been wearing it all the time! I adore the effect cute flower crowns can have on an outfit,  I need to get my mitts on some more of these babies!

On my feet I wore my white high-top Converse (surprise surprise) and on my nails I had my new favourite nail polish, Essie's Mint Candy Apple! Isn't it gorgeous? The ring on my left hand (silver with a black stone) was a gifted to me so I don't actually know where it's from, from memory it might have been from a vintage store? On my right hand I had a gold ring with a small peach flower on it that came in a pack of three from Lovisa (that I can't find on their website, sorry!).

So, how did I go? I really like this outfit, it's so simple but looks quite put together. It was also cool enough for me to go out in on a 30 degree day and not melt and/or sweat to death which is always promising! As always, if you want to chat, have any recommendations or just want to say hello, pop them in the comments below and i'll get back to you ASAP. Make sure you follow Rosie's blog as well! She's just starting out and is doing such an amazing job. She definitely needs all of your amazing support so go over there and leave a comment on her recent blogpost saying that I sent you, it'll make her a happy gal.

Rimmel Goodie Bag

Greetings!

Hey guys! long time no see! I know I keep saying sorry for not uploading frequently but it is really hard with school and stuff but i'm on holiday for two weeks now so fingers crossed i'll be blogging more. I recently did some modelling for DOLLY Magazine and Rimmel Australia (!!!!!!!!) after winning a competition and in return, got a goodie bag full of makeup! OH MY GOD RIGHT!? I knew you guys would be interested to see what I got so here goes!

Scandeleyes Retro Glam Mascara and Eyeliner Pen

I've been wanting to get my hands on the Retro Glam range ever since it came out so I was so happy when I pulled these out of the bag! The mascara is so interesting because the wand is in an hourglass shape, what!? After doing some research as to why the hell someone would make a mascara wand such an odd shape, I found out that the 'fat' ends of the wand are designed to push out the edges of your lashes for that doll-eyed look that I adore. I've used it a few times and I actually really like it! It's not too clumpy and does what it promises. I quickly discovered that instead of wiggling the wand about your eyelashes you're supposed to gently push it upwards or things get all kinda messy! The eyeliner is also super unique, it's exactly like a felt tip pen! My first thoughts were originally "Oh no, nope. I don't like it. Uh uh. No way" but after getting used to it, it's not so bad! You can either get a thick or thin line depending on which way you turn the pen and it being in a pen form actually makes it kind of easier to manoeuvre, I think it's because i'm so used to using pens? Definitely something for you first time makeup users to whip out and give a try!

Stay Matte Foundation

This is the new foundation that Rimmel are introducing to their beloved Stay Matte range and the whole reason for the photoshoot I attended (It was promotional). I'm not sure why they gave me one my skin tone and one that's too light for me but I gifted the lighter one to my chummy Rosie as it made me look like a ghost (attractive isn't it ooer). This is actually my new favourite foundation. I love it so much! It's medium coverage but so natural looking so you can hardly tell you've got it on because it just looks like skin. It's not at all cakey either, hooray! Everyone needs to go pick this up once it's released.

Scandaleyes Shadow Sticks in Bad Girl Bronze and Bulletproof Beige

Top: Bad Girl Bronze,  Bottom: Bulletproof Beige

Oooooohhhhhhh my are these lovely. When I swatched these it literally felt like butter on my hand, it was SO SMOOTH! The colour range is fabulous as well, it's not just a few good ones and the rest ridiculous which is a massive plus. I haven't had the chance to wear these out yet so i'm not sure on the staying power and all the technical bits but I really think i'm gonna love 'em. Look how pretty that beigey gold one is! The stick form could also mean that they're handy for you keen travellers out there? If you've travelled with these, let me know in the comments what you thought.

Blusher in 'Pink Rose'

This is the most perfect spring blush! It's so subtle but it makes your cheeks look like they've got this gorgeous flush of colour at the same time. Love it love it love it is all I can say about this! Another perfect thing for the people just starting out with makeup.

Kate Moss Salon Pro Nail Polish in 'Rock and Roll'

They used this nail polish on me during the shoot and I instantly fell in love. It's the prettiest red you ever did see! Not too deep or too pink or too orange, just red. I don't know how long it lasts for as I took it off right after the shoot but i've heard only good things so i'm sure it's pretty decent in that department.

Stay Matte Concealer

This is the only product I wasn't happy with. The colour range for this concealer is so limited! The darkest one you can get is still very very pale and makes under my eyes look horrid! It's alright for spots sometimes if i'm a bit pale but otherwise I can't use it. It's a good concealer though so if you're on the pale side i'd definitely recommend this but if you're like me or darker then this unfortunately isn't for us.

Apocolips Lip Lacquer

I love the Apocolips and I was delighted when I saw this in the bag but I must admit, this paticular colour is very odd, it's kind of like a rose gold shimmery colour! I tried to wear it on it's own and it wasn't a good look (robot-chic anyone?) but when put over bright lipsticks it makes them look so gorgeous as it dulls them down a but but then adds a beautiful subtle shimmer and gloss, it's lovely! I don't know what the name of this little bugger is so if any of you know, you know what to do! (if you're not picking up what i'm putting down then I meant leave it in the comments).

What an amazing goodie bag! It also came with the September issue of DOLLY mag but I didn't think you guys would like me rambling on about it. I felt like the luckiest girl in the world when they handed this bag to me as a thank you, I nearly squealed! If you would like to know more about the competition I won that got me into the photoshoot and would like a bit of a recount of the day with pictures and stuff just let me know and i'll do a blogpost on it, I'd really like to share it with you if you're interested. Remember to follow me on Twitter so we can become best friends!

Skin Care On A Budget

Greetings!

As you know, or maybe you don't in which case here's a lil fact about me, i'm 14 years old which sums up my money situation. i'm so punny har har har (If you're not picking up what I'm putting down, then I don't have much). I still find skin care important so I had to find a way to take care of my skin without breaking the bank so after shopping around, I found a few products that work just as well as high end ones and are cheap as chips! I know most you guys are around my age too so I thought this post could maybe help you in some way whether it be saving money or simply finding a new product to fall in love with!

Simple Oil Balancing Moisturiser-$8.25:
This moisturiser literally saved my skin. A few years ago my skin was horrible with a capital H. I was always looking shiny and my face was essentially one big pimple. I was trying all these different products and the words "oil balancing" really appealed to me so I picked it up. Best decision of my life. I noticed a change almost straight away! It's not too thick and gluggy or too watery, it sinks in really nicely and it does exactly what it promises, balanced oils!

Neutrogena Pink Grapefruit Oil-Free Acne Wash-$13.60:
This is like your bog standard face scrub, but better. It really clears out your pores, keeps your spots at bay, all that jazz! It also smells ah-mazing which is a massive plus. You only need the tiniest bit, the size of a pea to be exact, and it covers your whole face in delicious smelling foam!

Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser- $15.40:
I've been using this since forever. My whole family has, even my brother! It's a cream cleanser that's super gentle and it makes your face so soft after you use it. It's gentle enough to use around your eyes and I even scrub my eyelashes with this to get the rest of that pesky mascara off that hangs around long after it's wanted. I have re purchased this millions of times and I think I will for the rest of my life to be honest! Who need all those expensive cleansing balms and stuff when trusty Cetaphil is on the market for sixteen bucks!

I hope this helped at least one of you out, or at least was interesting. I have a haul post that i'm working on at the moment which shall be up soon and maybe an outfit/face of the day so keep an eye out for that. I think thats it! If theres anything else important I will definitely let you guys know. Don't forget to follow me on Bloglovin! The link will be below as always.

20 Questions with TheresSomethingAboutAlice!

Greetings!

After falling on love with each others blogs, me and Alice from TheresSomethingAboutAlice have been emailing back and forth for quite a while and have been planning away for future collaborations together! Hurah!  But before we jump into anything, we both agreed that it was a good idea for the readers on our blogs to get to know us so they can get a feel for what we're about. A fair warning, this is gonna be long so grab a drink, sit down and enjoy! (you're gonna love her, I certainly do!).

This is her, isn't she gorgeous!

1. Why did you start blogging?
I started blogging because on of my favorite things to do was to read blogs (as it is now!) and I wanted my own little space to share what I loved and to get evolved with other, similar  people. I also enjoy writing and photography (if my little snaps can be called that!) so blogging is like my perfect past time!

2. Whats your favourite Magazine?
I love love love company, I adore  all the features/articles they right, and I love the dinky size they are, super cute and they always fit nicely into my bag :)

3. Do you have any pets?
Alas, I do not :( me and my sister have always wanted one, but it wouldn't really be fair on the animal if we're all out all day. I do dream of having two sausage dogs one day though.

4. Wheres the furthest you've ever been from home?
Probably to Spain a while ago, unfortunately I'm not a very seasoned traveler!

5. What's your perfect meal?
I love food with a capital L, so this is a hard question, I think I'm going to have to say Duck in   pancakes with that plumb sauce stuff, A really nice roast lamb dinner, and then Eaton mess!

6.Do you have a favourite colour?
I don't really have one, but I love pastel shades.

7. If you could have a superpower, what would it be?
I would want to be able to know what people were thinking, because then I would always know what they thought of me :p

8. What's one thing in your wardrobe you can't live without?
I would have to say my skater skirts, I prefer a skirt or dress to trousers anyway, and they are just so versatile and flattering.
9. Are you good at any sports?
Haha! Me, good at sports? Sadly, no, I am not gifted in the sporting way, I do quite like badminton and swimming though, but put me on a football pitch and I can't even kick a ball straight (true story)
10. What's your biggest fear?
I wouldn't really say I'm scared of them, but I HATE rats, they just make my skin crawl, there little claws and bald tails just freak me out! I'm also not a big fan of heights.

11. Name your top 3 places you would like to travel to?
I would LOVE to go to Paris, New York and Venice, they just all seem so magical!

12. What is your favourite blog to read?
This is such a heart question! I love reading a tonne of blogs, but probably, like Alex, one of my faves had to be Sprinkle of glitter, I also love Louise's youtube channel and I've actually had to pleasure of meeting her :) Another blog I really love is `fashion rocks my socks`, I just adore Rhiannon has such amazing style and I have serious wardrobe envy because of  her clothes!

13. What is one app you are addicted to (game)?
I don't really play that many games, but I am partial to a few minutes on Cut the rope and temple run two :p

14. Are you a bath or shower person?
I tend to have showers more often as their obviously quicker and really help to wake me up in the morning, but nothing beats a good old bubble bath!

15. Blusher or bronzer?
Both?! I always use these together, I contour with a bronzer and then like to use blush for a bit of colour :)

16. What is your favourite animal?
Dogs! I really really want a sausage dog...

17. Tea or coffee?
Tea :) I'm not really a fan of coffee, If i'm in Starbucks or Costa I will always order a cold drink.

18. Favourite drug store beauty brand?
Now this is a hard question! I'm defo a drugstore gal, so I will have to say Sleek, Rimmel and Barry M.

19. Where did you get the idea for your blog name?
I knew when I was thinking of names for my blog I wanted my name in the title, I just though it would make it a bit more personal, ya now? So that's why I decided on 'There's something about Alice'. I decided to go for an Alice in wonderland theme because I have always loved the stories :)

20. What are your 5 makeup travel essentials?
Well I'm not really a traveler per say, but I can't live without my Sleek blush, Rimmel Match perfection foundation, Collection Cream puff, MUA undress me too palette and Real techniques brushes!

And that's Alice ladies and gentlemen! Do you love her yet? I knew you would! You'll be seeing a lot more of her now isn't that lovely! I know you'll all be itching to check her out so i'll put you out of your misery and leave her link HERE for you all. She's actually running a fantastic 50 Bloglovin Followers Giveaway at the moment so if you're from the UK then you should definitely have a peek at that as well and if you're not then you can sit and cry with me. Bye for now but not for later!

Get The Look | Perrie- Little Mix

Greetings!

I've been wanting to do a "Get The Look" post (or series, depends on how you guys react to this.) for quite some time now but I had no idea who's look to create. I recently went to a "The Best of Britain" themed fancy dress party dressed as Perrie Edwards from Little Mix and the thought hit me, why not start with Little Mix! They're pretty famous and stuff and each have such a unique, amazing style so why not start with them! I love the Little Mix girls so flipping much so i'm really excited to be doing their looks! Ok here we go.

Outfit:

Topshop Denim Skater Skirt
Topshop "Dweeb" Cropped Tee
Sportsgirl Daisy Chain Headband
Valleygirl Camo Jacket
Topshop Grey Socks with Black Lace Trim
Dotti Black Harness Boots
Dotti Nail Varnish in Khaki

Hair:

All I did was wash and blow dry my hair then threw it up in one of Perrie's signature top knots! Easy! I then pinned the daisy chain headband in and I was ready to go.

WHY SO PIXELATED!?!

Makeup:

  • Rimmel Stay Matte Foundation in 300 Natural Beige
  • Garnier Under-Eye Concealer in Medium
  • Rimmel Stay Matte Powder in Silky Beige
  • TopShop Cream Blush in Pinched
  • Rimmel Exaggerate Liquid Eyeliner
  • Urban Decay Naked2 Palette- Snakebite (lid), Busted (crease and outer corner) and Blackout (outer corner) I was trying to create a natural smokey look. Not too sure how that worked out for me, you can decide that yourselves.
  • L'Oreal Volume Million Lashes Mascara in Noir/Black
  • Clinique Bottom Lash Mascara
  • Mac Lipstick in Chatterbox
The Finished Product! (With my Zayn)

How was that? Was that ok? I tried my hardest to get it right, It is my first time doing this kind of thing after all! I'm really sorry about the picture quality. I tried really hard to get a good shot of my makeup but it wasn't really working out and the lighting was making my skin look all spotty and weird (ew!) so this was the best I could get for you guys, sorry! My friend Ruby who was going to the party with me as Zayn (we went as Zerrie, cool right!) and I felt so guilty when I kept asking her "Can you take a picture of this? Can you take a picture of that?" so I kind of just let her take the photos and took what I got. I'm still using my iPhone to take all my photos too, I know, it's cringey. I am in the process of buying a better camera though so hang in there! The pictures will be better soon enough. Anyway, after all that rambling,  tell me what you think of this and if you like it I might do the rest of the girls! Enjoy your week guys!

Essiebutton's DIY Lemon & Peppermint Foot Scrub

Greetings!

Lately i've been seriously loving Estee from essiebutton's blog and youtube videos (new girl crush? I think so!) and everybody knows I love a bit of DIY now and then so when I saw she had created a DIY footscrub, there was no question about it, I had to give it a go!

You can check out the blogpost she wrote on it HERE but i'm gonna make my own post, just because I can. The "recipe" is as follows;

You Will Need:
  • Rock Sea Salt (just fill your jar and that will be perfect)
  • Half a lemon
  • Lemon zest (tablespoon)
  • Almond oil(about 1/2 cup- 1 cup)
  • Peppermint oil (couple of drops will do the trick!)
  • Jar (or jars, whatever floats your boat)
  • Bowl
  • Spoon/spatula (just something to mix it with. You can use your hands if you wish it)
  • Ribbon (optional)
Method:
  1. Measure your jar full of rock salt and pour it into the bowl
  2. Squeeze in the juices of half a lemon
  3. Add in the lemon zest
  4. Pour in almond oil (put in as much or as little as you want, it's totally up to you. Just make sure it has the consistency of a scrub and has a scrub-y feel to it if ya know what I mean)
  5. Drop in about 3-4 drops of peppermint oil
  6. Mix!
  7. Scrape into your jar
  8. Tie bow around the jar (if you're into that sort of thing)
  9. Voila!

See! Easy! Essie also did a video tutorial type of thing on it too so i'll link that HERE as well so you can pop over and give that a watch too. I love this because not only is it super easy to make but it's fun too and they make great gifts. I actually made one for my friend Rosie who is really unwell at the moment and could really use a cute little pick me up in foot scrub form! (Hi chummy if you're reading, I love you loads. Feel better soon <3)

Pop on over later for my 30 Day Snap #5 picture! See you then!

Pip pip!

p.s. Make sure you mix it up a bit before you actually use it, the almond oil tends to sink to the bottom xx

Lush Mini Haul

Greetings!

Just like every other person in the blogosphere, I am completely obsessed and in love with Lush products. All of them. I was studying at a friends place and we went out to get some food for lunch and I ended up buying a few things, oops! Thought you guys might be interested in what I picked up so, ya know, here you go!

Tisty Tosty Bath Ballistic- $6.75: "You'll find 7 rosebuds in this rose scented bath, which float on the water releasing a magic love spell."
Now I don't know about a magic love spell but this bath bomb smells flipping amazing. If there was a candle in this scent, I would buy three. When I read the little blurb about it I could image myself in a gorgeous milk bath with one of these in and I couldn't get up to the counter quick enough.

Butterball- $5.50: "Tiny slivers of cocoa butter melt in a vanilla and ylang-ylang bath. Guaranteed to soften you up"
How gorgeous does this sound!?! I want to bloody eat it! I haven't got the slightest clue as to what ylang-ylang is but it sounds awesome! I get super dry skin in the winter so this will be a nice bath bomb to use to "soften me up" as lush says. It smells like vanilla too which is one of my favourite scents so i'm looking forward to using it and smelling like a candle :) (weird?)

Space Girl Bath Ballistic- $5.95: "Refreshing, fizzy, purple and ever so slightly sparkly. The closest we'll get to floating in space."
Not sure why I bought this, think I got a bit over excited to be honest! I'm not a massive fan of sparkles in my bath (I totally want to love it but for some reason it just really annoys me) so i'll see how this goes. It does say "ever so slightly sparkly" so maybe we'll get along. Smells good though!

So there ya go! If you want to know what I think of them after i've used them just tell me in the comments and i'll see what I can do. Don't forget to come back a bit later for my second 30 Day Snap photo! Are any of you guys taking part in it?

Special Delivery!

Hola!

I know its been a while since i've posted and i'm very sorry. I've just got tonnes of assignments and i'm just about to go into exams and ARG! Anyways, I was a-scrollin through asos and came across a couple of things I really liked and after intensive begging, I bought them!

I ended up buying a pair of boots and a pair of tights for the fast approaching cold months.

New Look Calypo Studded Black Flat Boots-$38.43

view from the back

I really needed some new black flat ankle boots as my ones from last year, which were absolutely gorgeous, grew mouldy and mildew at the back of my wardrobe which i'm terribly allergic to and I had to throw them out. I have been on the lookout for a new pair for a while now and i've been loving the stud trend thats in at the moment so when I saw these I knew they were the ones for me! I had seen a few around like this but they weren't as nice and were way more expensive so I felt I really couldn't go wrong. I can tell i'll be pretty much living in these boots this winter, look how nice they are! I love the way they dip at the front and the back and how the studs are only on one side of the boot, the perfect pair of casual boots in my opinion!

ASOS Swallow Print Tights- $13.37

What they look like on (minus the weird circles, thats just the camera)

I didn't really need these but I saw them on the side bar as a "recommended item" and I couldn't scroll past. I super love them, and at 13 bucks were super affordable! I wore them with the boots last night on a night out and they looked super cute! If you follow my instagram (alexxhorne), you will be able to see the outfit I wore (just a casual plug there).

I really like asos, it has clothing to suit everyone and free shipping! Now that makes me one happy camper! I'm absolutely sick of websites making the shipping just as much as the product you want to buy, it's just ridiculous and unnecessary in my opinion. I'll leave the link HERE so you can check them out. Just a quick warning, I may not be posting much in the upcoming weeks as I have exams soon and I really need to study but i'll see what I can do. Have a fantastic weekend!

A New Look!

Hola!

If you've looked at my blog the past few days and thought "Oh wow! That looks flash! However did she manage to do all that?!" well this is the post for you! My blog has gone through some changes for the better recently and I thought I would write this post to explain all the techy bits and pieces involved in case you're interested. I first found out about Designbyte when I was reading through Amber's blog and thought "wow, I need this!" so I messaged him on facebook and away we went!

I had a few ideas about what I wanted so in my email, I just listed all my ideas and he designed around them (as well as using his own fantastic ideas). I asked him to design my header, a button and link buttons and I only had to wait a day and he was done! wowee, talk about talent! After a bit of tweaking here and there and many many emails, he had sorted everything out for me (i'm not very good and techy things, i just don't understand it all) and we were all set! He was lovely and so patient with me when I was bombarding him with emails and he got everything spot on which made me a very happy camper indeed.

If you need some help with your blog design, go to his facebook page or email him at designbyte.ltd@gmail.com. He's happy to help you and isn't charging anything at the moment as he wants to build up a portfolio so you would be helping him out as well, happy days!
