OOTD #1 || A Boiling Brunch

Greetings!

This morning, me and my chummy Rosie from Regent-St went and had a lovely little brunch together and thought it would be a splendid idea to do a cheeky OOTD. Since this is my first, It might be a bit lousy but bare with me. Before we start I would also like to thank her for her photography, fanks a whole heap chummy!

My outfit was just a quick throw-together outfit to make it look like I'd put some effort into it when I actually hadn't. We all have those outfits, am I right? I wore this cropped white tee from Jays Jays and these peach crochet high waisted shorts from a little bohemian Sydney boutique called One Honney (they ship internationally if you're not from Australia and would like to pick up something from their store!)

To make my outfit a little more interesting, I wore this Sportsgirl daisy chain flower headband. I've really been loving this lately and have been wearing it all the time! I adore the effect cute flower crowns can have on an outfit,  I need to get my mitts on some more of these babies!

On my feet I wore my white high-top Converse (surprise surprise) and on my nails I had my new favourite nail polish, Essie's Mint Candy Apple! Isn't it gorgeous? The ring on my left hand (silver with a black stone) was a gifted to me so I don't actually know where it's from, from memory it might have been from a vintage store? On my right hand I had a gold ring with a small peach flower on it that came in a pack of three from Lovisa (that I can't find on their website, sorry!).

So, how did I go? I really like this outfit, it's so simple but looks quite put together. It was also cool enough for me to go out in on a 30 degree day and not melt and/or sweat to death which is always promising! As always, if you want to chat, have any recommendations or just want to say hello, pop them in the comments below and i'll get back to you ASAP. Make sure you follow Rosie's blog as well! She's just starting out and is doing such an amazing job. She definitely needs all of your amazing support so go over there and leave a comment on her recent blogpost saying that I sent you, it'll make her a happy gal.

Rimmel Goodie Bag

Greetings!

Hey guys! long time no see! I know I keep saying sorry for not uploading frequently but it is really hard with school and stuff but i'm on holiday for two weeks now so fingers crossed i'll be blogging more. I recently did some modelling for DOLLY Magazine and Rimmel Australia (!!!!!!!!) after winning a competition and in return, got a goodie bag full of makeup! OH MY GOD RIGHT!? I knew you guys would be interested to see what I got so here goes!

Scandeleyes Retro Glam Mascara and Eyeliner Pen

I've been wanting to get my hands on the Retro Glam range ever since it came out so I was so happy when I pulled these out of the bag! The mascara is so interesting because the wand is in an hourglass shape, what!? After doing some research as to why the hell someone would make a mascara wand such an odd shape, I found out that the 'fat' ends of the wand are designed to push out the edges of your lashes for that doll-eyed look that I adore. I've used it a few times and I actually really like it! It's not too clumpy and does what it promises. I quickly discovered that instead of wiggling the wand about your eyelashes you're supposed to gently push it upwards or things get all kinda messy! The eyeliner is also super unique, it's exactly like a felt tip pen! My first thoughts were originally "Oh no, nope. I don't like it. Uh uh. No way" but after getting used to it, it's not so bad! You can either get a thick or thin line depending on which way you turn the pen and it being in a pen form actually makes it kind of easier to manoeuvre, I think it's because i'm so used to using pens? Definitely something for you first time makeup users to whip out and give a try!

Stay Matte Foundation

This is the new foundation that Rimmel are introducing to their beloved Stay Matte range and the whole reason for the photoshoot I attended (It was promotional). I'm not sure why they gave me one my skin tone and one that's too light for me but I gifted the lighter one to my chummy Rosie as it made me look like a ghost (attractive isn't it ooer). This is actually my new favourite foundation. I love it so much! It's medium coverage but so natural looking so you can hardly tell you've got it on because it just looks like skin. It's not at all cakey either, hooray! Everyone needs to go pick this up once it's released.

Scandaleyes Shadow Sticks in Bad Girl Bronze and Bulletproof Beige

Top: Bad Girl Bronze,  Bottom: Bulletproof Beige

Oooooohhhhhhh my are these lovely. When I swatched these it literally felt like butter on my hand, it was SO SMOOTH! The colour range is fabulous as well, it's not just a few good ones and the rest ridiculous which is a massive plus. I haven't had the chance to wear these out yet so i'm not sure on the staying power and all the technical bits but I really think i'm gonna love 'em. Look how pretty that beigey gold one is! The stick form could also mean that they're handy for you keen travellers out there? If you've travelled with these, let me know in the comments what you thought.

Blusher in 'Pink Rose'

This is the most perfect spring blush! It's so subtle but it makes your cheeks look like they've got this gorgeous flush of colour at the same time. Love it love it love it is all I can say about this! Another perfect thing for the people just starting out with makeup.

Kate Moss Salon Pro Nail Polish in 'Rock and Roll'

They used this nail polish on me during the shoot and I instantly fell in love. It's the prettiest red you ever did see! Not too deep or too pink or too orange, just red. I don't know how long it lasts for as I took it off right after the shoot but i've heard only good things so i'm sure it's pretty decent in that department.

Stay Matte Concealer

This is the only product I wasn't happy with. The colour range for this concealer is so limited! The darkest one you can get is still very very pale and makes under my eyes look horrid! It's alright for spots sometimes if i'm a bit pale but otherwise I can't use it. It's a good concealer though so if you're on the pale side i'd definitely recommend this but if you're like me or darker then this unfortunately isn't for us.

Apocolips Lip Lacquer

I love the Apocolips and I was delighted when I saw this in the bag but I must admit, this paticular colour is very odd, it's kind of like a rose gold shimmery colour! I tried to wear it on it's own and it wasn't a good look (robot-chic anyone?) but when put over bright lipsticks it makes them look so gorgeous as it dulls them down a but but then adds a beautiful subtle shimmer and gloss, it's lovely! I don't know what the name of this little bugger is so if any of you know, you know what to do! (if you're not picking up what i'm putting down then I meant leave it in the comments).

What an amazing goodie bag! It also came with the September issue of DOLLY mag but I didn't think you guys would like me rambling on about it. I felt like the luckiest girl in the world when they handed this bag to me as a thank you, I nearly squealed! If you would like to know more about the competition I won that got me into the photoshoot and would like a bit of a recount of the day with pictures and stuff just let me know and i'll do a blogpost on it, I'd really like to share it with you if you're interested. Remember to follow me on Twitter so we can become best friends!
